 Military judge suppresses Khalid Sheikh Mohammed’s FBI confession in 9/11 case A military judge has excluded a confession that alleged Sept. 11 attacks mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed gave to FBI agents nearly 20 years ago, ruling that the statements were not made voluntarily. The decision is a setback for the U.S. government's long-running effort to prosecute Mohammed, who is accused of helping develop the plot to hijack planes and crash them into the World Trade Center and Pentagon. Mohammed remains detained at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, alongside other defendants awaiting trial. Lt. Col. Michael Schrama, the judge overseeing the case, scheduled a June 2028 trial for Mohammed and three other defendants earlier this week. In an order issued Friday that has not been made public, Schrama barred prosecutors from using statements Mohammed made during four days of FBI questioning at Guantanamo in January 2007.  FRSC RECORDS 25.65% DROP IN ROAD CRASHES DURING EID EL KABIR SPECIAL PATROL


The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says the Corps has recorded 25.65% drop in road crashes one at the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir Special Patrol Operations. 

delivered significant reductions across critical road safety indices nationwide. 


In a statement by the Corps Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri, the percent reflects dropping from 191 crashes recorded in 2025, to 142 in 2026. 

there was also 22 percent reduction in the number of people involved in crashes, which fell from 1,364 persons in 2025 to 1,064 in 2026. 


Reacting to this, the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed expressed appreciation to motorists and other road users who adhered to traffic regulations and embraced the Corps' safety advisories throughout the festive season, revealing that sustained enforcement, strategic planning, and collective commitment to road safety can substantially reduce the burden of crashes on Nigerian roads.
