 PRESS BRIEFING BY THE POLICE PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER, ON BEHALF OF THE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE EDO STATE COMMAND Good afternoon, Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press.  It is with great pleasure that the Command wishes to inform the general public of its latest achievement over the immediate past week arising from ongoing intelligence- led operations: Within the past week, the command have arrested a total of 10 suspects for violent crimes, neutralized 1 suspected kidnapper, recovered 1 AK 47 Rifle, 10 7.62 mm live ammunitions, 1 barrette pistol with 14 live ammunition. 1. ARREST OF SUSPECT IN ABDUCTION AND SEXUAL ABUSE OF FIVE FEMALE CHILDREN. On 12th September 2026, the Command received information on the alleged abduction of five female children from the ibillo/ Imoga axis of Akoko - Edo LGA.  HEALTHCARE REFORMS YIELD RESULTS AS CENTRES IMPROVE SERVICE DELIVERY 


The Executive Director of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency Dr. Muyi Aina, has commended local leadership and highlighted the critical role of traditional and religious leaders in advancing primary healthcare delivery across the country.


While at the palace of the Ona of Abaji, Alhaji Baba Yunusa, Dr. Aina acknowledges the efforts of the administration of President Bola Tinubu in addressing systemic challenges in the health sector. 


He discloses that more than 4,000 primary healthcare centres have been refurbished across Nigeria to improve access to quality healthcare services.


While visiting the Ayaura Comprehensive Primary Health Care Centre in the Abaji Area Council, Dr. Aina's interactions with patients and healthcare workers indicates that the upgraded infrastructure and improved workforce have enhanced the efficiency and timeliness of service delivery.
