 Kate Middleton Returns to Trooping the Colour Alongside Her Three Children

Kate Middleton joined the royal family for this year's Trooping the Colour celebrations, taking part in King Charles' official birthday parade in London on Saturday.

The Princess of Wales, 44, travelled through the capital in a horse-drawn carriage with her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, continuing a long-standing royal tradition linked to the annual event.

Kate was seated next to Prince Louis during the procession, while Prince George and Princess Charlotte sat opposite them inside the Ascot Landau carriage.

For the occasion, the princess wore a pale blue outfit designed by Catherine Walker, paired with a matching hat by Philip Treacy. 

She completed the look with her Irish Guards brooch and Cassandra Goad earrings. Charlotte coordinated with her mother in a cream dress, while George and Louis wore dark blue suits with light blue ties.

Trooping the Colour has been a regular fixture in Kate's royal calendar since her marriage to Prince William in 2011. 

The only years she missed were during the scaled-back celebrations held amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last year, her appearance at the event drew significant attention as it was one of the few public engagements she attended after revealing she was undergoing cancer treatment. Earlier this year, she shared that she was in remission.

While gradually returning to public life, Kate has spoken candidly about the realities of recovery after treatment.

Reflecting on the experience during a visit to a hospital, she explained that many people expect life to immediately return to normal once treatment ends, but the adjustment period can be challenging.

“You put on a brave face through treatment,” she said. “Then treatment ends and people think you can just get back to normal, but the phase afterwards is really, really difficult.”

She added that support during recovery is vital because many people no longer receive regular medical care but still face challenges adjusting to everyday life.

Royal observers have also noted her growing presence within the monarchy. 

Royal historian Amanda Foreman previously described Kate as a key figure within the royal family, while former royal press secretary Ailsa Anderson said the princess has become even more admired by the public over the past year.
