Kogi State Police Command has confirmed the death of a notorious and high-profile bandit leader, IBRAHIM BACCUJO, who was among criminal elements involved in the failed operation targeting WAEC candidates and other residents of Iluke Community.

A statement by the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer ASP Saliu Oyiza Afusat says, the breakthrough is a testament to the strong synergy among the Nigeria Police Force and other security forces, operating within Kogi State.

It adds that intelligence confirmed that Ibrahim Baccujo died from injuries sustained during the gun duel that ensued after joint security operatives, successfully thwarted the attempted abduction of students in Iluke Community.

The statement also confirms that another notorious bandit, identified as Isa Mai Dabbaba, was neutralized during the coordinated operation, while Ibrahim Baccujo sustained fatal injuries during the joint security response mounted against the criminal elements.

The development she says underscores the effectiveness of the collaboration and operational synergy among security agencies and partners in Kogi State.

The Kogi State Police Command therefore commends the gallantry, professionalism, and resilience demonstrated by personnel of all security agencies involved in these operations while appreciating the Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his continued support and commitment to strengthening security architecture in the State.

The Command reiterates that together, through sustained partnership and collective resolve, Kogi State shall remain hostile to criminal elements but remain safe for all law-abiding citizens.
