 MAN SENTENCED TO 16 YEARS FOR MURDER IN JOSEFA VILLAGE A 25-year-old man has been sentenced to 16 years’ direct imprisonment for the murder of 40-year-old Jabulani Kabide in Josefa Village, Saselamani. Siphiwe Hlungwani was sentenced by the Thohoyandou High Court on Monday, 24 August 2026, after being convicted of murder. The court heard that Hlungwani allegedly stole a cellphone from a relative of Kabide’s family. When the cellphone owner reported the theft to Hlungwani’s mother, he allegedly became aggressive and threatened her. Kabide, who was the cellphone owner’s cousin, confronted Hlungwani, leading to an argument that escalated into a physical confrontation. Hlungwani’s mother later allegedly warned the cellphone owner to hide, saying her son had left the house armed with a knife and intended to kill her.  LAWMA Waste, Investigation, Surveillance and Enforcement operatives on night duty have apprehended two environmental offenders along the Jibowu and Ojota corridors of Ikorodu Road for engaging in illegal waste collection and indiscriminate disposal of refuse at unauthorized locations.


The suspects, were arrested during routine surveillance operations after being found carrying out activities that constitute environmental nuisance and undermine approved waste management processes, despite repeated warnings and sensitization efforts.


The offenders are being transferred to the Oshodi Task Force Office for prosecution through the Mobile Court in accordance with the environmental protection laws of Lagos State.


LAWMA reiterates that illegal waste collection and indiscriminate dumping remain punishable offences. Residents and businesses are advised to patronize only assigned PSP operators and dispose of waste through approved channels.


Environmental responsibility is a shared duty. Together, we can achieve a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable Lagos.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
