 NDC STATEMENT ON COURT RULING Our attention has been drawn to a ruling by the Federal High Court sitting in Lokoja this morning, wherein His Lordship, Honourable Justice Isah Dashen, gave a ruling on an application filed by an unregistered association known as Peace Movement Party. The public knows that by December 2025, the Nigeria Democratic Congress  as an association complained of INEC’s refusal to register us as a political party, whereupon we proceeded to the Federal High Court. The Federal High Court upheld our constitutional right to freedom of association under the Constitution and compelled INEC to register us, which INEC did. Since then, we have started political activities, embarked on the registration of members, held congresses from ward to national levels, held conventions, and concluded primaries to all offices following INEC’s timetable. MERLIN STAR ANTHONY HEAD DIES AT 72 . (PHOTO).



Merlin star Anthony Head dies at 72 


British actor Anthony Head, known for his roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Ted Lasso, Merlin and Little Britain, has died at the age of 72.


His family confirmed to newsmen that he died of complications from pneumonia, surrounded by relatives.


Head rose to international fame for his role as Rupert Giles in the supernatural teen drama Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the late 1990s.


He later appeared in several popular productions, including the sketch comedy Little Britain, where he had a recurring role, and the BBC fantasy series Merlin, where he played King Uther Pendragon.


He also featured in Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso as former football club owner Rupert Mannion.


In a statement, his daughters Emily and Daisy said, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our extraordinary father.”


They added that he died peacefully and described it as an honour to have been his daughters.


“It has been, and forever will be, an honour and a privilege to be his daughters, and to have witnessed firsthand the impact both he and his work have had on so many,” they added.


They noted that he would be missed by friends, colleagues and fans, adding that he “loved his job very much” and always considered himself lucky.


Head’s career also included roles in The Iron Lady, Doctor Who, The Inbetweeners, Persuasion and Manchild.
