 Set designer Mary Kate Golding found dead in Queens home as police investigate possible murder-suicide Police are investigating the deaths of television set designer Mary Kate Golding and her husband after the 34-year-old was found fatally stabbed inside her Queens home. According to the New York Police Department, officers responded shortly after midnight on Tuesday, July 21, to a residence in Astoria, where they found Golding with a fatal stab wound to her back. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Several hours later, at about 6:39 a.m., officers responded to a separate 911 call reporting an unconscious person near Astoria Park South and Shore Boulevard. Police found an unresponsive man in the park, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. An NYPD source identified the man as Joseph Azzaretto, Golding's husband.  NIGERIAN DEFENCE ACADEMY  SCREENING TEST TO HOLD IN LAGOS ON JUNE 20, 2026


The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, has informed the general public, particularly prospective candidates, parents, guardians, school administrators, and other relevant stakeholders, that the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) will conduct its Admission Screening Test in Lagos State on Saturday, June 20, 2026.


In preparation for the successful conduct of the exercise, a liaison team from the Nigerian Defence Academy is expected to arrive in Lagos on June 11, 2026, to undertake necessary consultations, coordination activities, and other preparatory arrangements with relevant government agencies and stakeholders.


Prospective candidates are advised to adhere strictly to all guidelines and instructions issued by the Nigerian Defence Academy regarding registration, accreditation, examination procedures, and other requirements. Candidates are also encouraged to regularly monitor official NDA communication channels for updates and further information concerning the screening exercise.


The Lagos State Government remains committed to supporting programmes and initiatives that promote educational advancement, leadership development, and opportunities for young Nigerians to serve the Nation through distinguished institutions such as the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA).
