 Former Kennedy Center employees allege leadership delayed roof repairs before citing safety issues in closure decision Former Kennedy Center employees allege that the venue’s leadership knew about serious structural problems well before citing newly discovered hazards as the reason for its abrupt closure this month. The claims were outlined in a letter to Congress from a lawyer representing anonymous whistleblowers. The letter accuses the center’s executive director and chief operating officer, Matt Floca, of failing to prioritize roof repairs and stopping a funded repair plan in April. Floca disputes the allegations, saying recent inspections revealed that water damage had spread farther into the building than officials previously knew. In a September court declaration, Floca cited “acute risks to public safety” following an inspection that found deterioration in a roof terrace canopy and a partial ceiling collapse.  Nursing Student Found Dead in Anambra Apartment as Police Detain Landlord Over Circumstances


A nursing student identified as Chilaka Vivian has been reportedly found dead in her off-campus apartment in Anambra State under circumstances that have raised questions and prompted an ongoing investigation.


In a video circulating online, a man dressed in a white cassock was seen displaying a knife and a stick allegedly recovered from the scene, suggesting that the deceased may have struggled before her death. However, authorities have not confirmed the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.


Sources say the landlord of the apartment has been taken into police custody to assist with investigations, as law enforcement officials continue to gather evidence and piece together what may have transpired.


Meanwhile, as of the time of filing this report, the Anambra state police command is yet to issue a statement on the matter.
