OPERATION HADIN KAI FOILS TERRORIST INFILTRATION, DISRUPTS LOGISTICS NETWORKS, ARRESTS COLLABORATORS

The Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) has recorded significant operational successes in its ongoing counterterrorism and counterinsurgency campaign across the North-East. Through a combination of offensive operations, intelligence-led actions, and collaboration with local security stakeholders, troops successfully foiled a terrorist infiltration attempt and disrupted terrorist logistics and support networks, further degrading the operational capabilities of insurgent groups in the Theatre.

In Borno State, troops responded swiftly to the sighting of terrorists advancing toward the North East Theatre Training School, Buni Yadi, at about 9:00 a.m. on 9 June 2026. Employing coordinated and precise fire missions, the troops neutralized the threat and denied the terrorists freedom of action. Subsequent exploitation of the area led to the recovery of two terrorist corpses and one motorcycle, confirming the effectiveness of the operation and the failure of the attempted infiltration.

In a series of intelligence-driven operations aimed at dismantling terrorist support structures, troops of 25 Brigade Garrison, in conjunction with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), apprehended two suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP logistics suppliers, Mallam Bako Ibrahim and Abu Aji, along the Sierra 4 axis in Damboa. Similarly, troops of 162 Amphibious Battalion, working closely with the CJTF along the Mandaragirau–Sabon Gari road, arrested another suspected logistics supplier, Musa Idi. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were involved in providing logistics support to terrorists operating within Damboa Local Government Area. Items recovered from the suspects included 19 wristwatches, one large mat, one transistor radio, two cartons of agro-allied chemicals, and other materials intended for terrorist use. The suspects and recovered items are currently in custody for further investigation and necessary action.

In a related development, combined troops of Sector 2 , in collaboration with the CJTF, arrested a 23-year-old suspect, Adams Shittima, in Damboa town at about 5:58 a.m. on 9 June 2026. The suspect was intercepted while attempting to procure farm implements and mosquito nets for terrorist elements. During preliminary interrogation, he confessed to providing both logistics support and information to terrorists operating within Damboa Local Government Area, further exposing the network of collaborators sustaining insurgent activities in the area.

Meanwhile, sustained military offensives and relentless pressure on terrorist enclaves continue to weaken insurgent networks and compel their members to abandon criminal activities. The Military High Command commends the troops for their professionalism, vigilance, resilience, and unwavering commitment in the ongoing fight against terrorism and criminality. These operational achievements underscore the resolve of Operation HADIN KAI to dismantle terrorist support structures, deny insurgents freedom of action, protect law-abiding citizens, and create conditions conducive to lasting peace, security, and socio-economic recovery across the North-East.
