 New UK Prime Minister not the leader Britain needs — Kemi Badenoch UK Conservative Party leader, Kemi Badenoch, has congratulated Andy Burnham on becoming Britain’s new prime minister but said while he is “a nice man,” the country needs a leader capable of making difficult decisions rather than “a people pleaser.” In a statement released on Monday on X following Burnham’s assumption of office, Badenoch wished the new prime minister success but vowed to hold his government accountable as Leader of the Opposition. “Today, Britain has a new Prime Minister. I wish Andy Burnham every success. Because we need a Prime Minister and a Government focused on fixing the public’s priorities,” she said.  PRESIDENT TINUBU MOURNS EMIR OF NGAZARGAMU, AHMAD TIJJANI IBN SALEH

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of His Royal Highness, Ahmad Tijjani Ibn Saleh, the Emir of Ngazargamu in Yobe State.


In a statement issued by the President's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu describes the late monarch as a father, mentor, and respected custodian of tradition whose life was dedicated to the service of his people and humanity.


According to reports from the Ngazargamu Emirate Council, the Emir passed away on Tuesday in Cairo, Egypt, following a prolonged illness.


President Tinubu says the late royal father embodied wisdom, humility, courage, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of his subjects.


He notes that the Emir's fatherly guidance and exemplary leadership would continue to inspire the people of Ngazargamu, Yobe State, and the nation at large.


The President extends his heartfelt condolences to the Ngazargamu Emirate Council, the royal family, the Government and people of Yobe State, as well as all subjects of the Emirate.


President Tinubu prays Almighty Allah to forgive the late Emir's shortcomings, accept his good deeds, grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus, and give his family and the entire Emirate the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
