 Atiku pledges scholarship to viral Niger teen miner Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Sunday said his “heart breaks” each time he watches a viral video of a teenage artisanal miner, Yusuf Aliyu, speaking at a mining site in Niger State after the deaths of 37 miners in the state. Atiku, in a statement posted on his X handle, said he was prepared to support the boy’s education, describing him as a child whose intelligence and confidence should be nurtured in a classroom rather than by working at a mining site. “I have watched Yusuf Aliyu’s video repeatedly, and each time, my heart breaks. A child with such intelligence, clarity and confidence should be in a classroom building his future—not struggling for survival in a community surrounded by gold but buried in poverty. “I cannot look at him and see an ‘illegal miner.’ I see a Nigerian child failed by the country that should have protected him. I see brilliance trapped by poverty and enormous promise abandoned by leadership,” ...

 Sharon Stone appears “unrecognisable” in runway return at Paris Fashion Week


Sharon Stone drew attention at Paris Fashion Week after appearing on the runway in what some observers described as a notably different look during Vetements’ Spring/Summer 2027 menswear presentation on Friday.


The 68-year-old actress took part in the show held in an industrial-style venue in Paris, marking her return to the catwalk after more than three decades.


Her runway styling featured a structured white oversized blazer worn over a black shirt, paired with a white satin tie styled in reverse and finished with thigh-high patent boots worn without trousers.


The overall presentation, along with her hair and makeup styling, contributed to a sharper, more defined appearance compared with her recent public outings, where she has appeared in more relaxed, natural looks.


Stone’s recent appearances in Los Angeles included casual outings with her son and a filmed interview, where she was seen with minimal makeup. For the Paris show, her styling included a slicked-back bob and more pronounced eye makeup, aligning with the runway concept.
