A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kenneth Okonkwo, has alleged that the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) is aligned with President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Okonkwo made the claim during an interview while responding to questions on the emergence of the NDC and its relationship with opposition figures. According to him, the party was registered following a meeting between its national leader, Seriake Dickson, and President Tinubu. He further alleged that the NDC was created to attract Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi into its fold. The former spokesperson for Obi's presidential campaign claimed that the NDC was not initially qualified for registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and only secured recognition through a court order. “NDC is Tinubu and the APC political party.  'Sopranos' star Aida Turturro says she had a heart attack and didn't realize: "I should've died"

Aida Turturro, best known for her role as Janice Soprano on The Sopranos, recently opened up about a frightening health scare she experienced nearly eight years ago.

Speaking on the MeSsy with Christina Applegate & Jaime-Lynn Sigler podcast, the actress revealed she unknowingly suffered a heart attack while under significant stress.

Living with diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis, she admitted she initially dismissed her chest pains, believing they were related to a hiatal hernia. Looking back, she said, “I should’ve died, I could’ve died, I was lucky it wasn’t my time.”

Turturro recalled collapsing in pain while visiting a friend in New York, but insisted she was fine and even walked home afterward.

It wasn’t until days later that she saw a doctor, who confirmed she had suffered a heart attack and discovered that nearly 90 percent of her arteries were blocked.

She was rushed to the hospital for an emergency quadruple bypass. Reflecting on the ordeal, she emphasized the importance of recognizing symptoms and not ignoring them, urging listeners to take their health seriously.

Now 63, Turturro says the experience taught her valuable lessons about self-care. She stressed that prioritizing one’s health is essential not only for oneself but also for family and loved ones.

“You can’t help your kids, you can’t help your family if you don’t do you,” she explained, encouraging people to involve those around them in making health a priority.

Her story carries added poignancy given that her co-star James Gandolfini died of a sudden heart attack in 2013, underscoring the seriousness of heart disease.
