Canada’s first World Cup win marred by gruesome Ismaël Koné leg injury in 6-0 rout of Qatar   Canada's first World Cup victory was overshadowed by a horrific injury to midfielder Ismaël Koné during a dominant 6-0 win over Qatar. The 24-year-old suffered a serious left-leg injury in the second half after Qatar midfielder Assim Madibo tackled him from behind. Koné immediately went down in pain as players from both teams rushed to his side and called for medical assistance. Madibo was shown a red card for the challenge, while Koné's teammates formed a protective circle around him as he received treatment on the field. He was later stretchered off and transported to a local hospital, where he was preparing to undergo surgery while surrounded by family members. Canada captain Stephen Eustáquio was among the first players to reach Koné and quickly realized the severity of the injury. "I saw his leg. I saw that something wasn't right," Eustáquio said.  Taylor Swift wears Elizabeth Taylor jewelry set with Hollywood history on Brooklyn date night

Taylor Swift was seen wearing a vintage jewellery set with a Hollywood background during a recent outing in Brooklyn with fiancé Travis Kelce.

On Saturday, May 16, Swift, 36, attended a wedding related event at Honey’s cocktail bar in Williamsburg. She wore a gold Maria Lucia Hohan silk dress with a cutout design at the waist and paired it with jewellery linked to actress Elizabeth Taylor.

The set included chandelier earrings, a ring and a bracelet made of 22K yellow gold with black opals and Australian crystal. The pieces were designed by Darlene De Sedle in 1999 and later sold in 2025 for $125,000 to a sports agent, with reports suggesting it was later acquired as a gift for Swift.

According to a statement from Elizabeth Taylor’s estate, the jewellery was originally purchased by Taylor during a shopping trip in West Hollywood in 1999.

Her longtime assistant, Tim Mendelson, recalled that Taylor selected the opal after seeing it in a store, noting her interest in the stone’s natural formation inside a clam.

Taylor, who died in 2011 at age 79, wore the jewellery set publicly at the Project Angel Food Angel Award ceremony in Los Angeles in 1999, where she was recognised for her work in HIV and AIDS advocacy.

She also paired similar opal themed pieces with a starfish inspired pendant designed personally for her, which was not part of the later sold set.
