 Set designer Mary Kate Golding found dead in Queens home as police investigate possible murder-suicide Police are investigating the deaths of television set designer Mary Kate Golding and her husband after the 34-year-old was found fatally stabbed inside her Queens home. According to the New York Police Department, officers responded shortly after midnight on Tuesday, July 21, to a residence in Astoria, where they found Golding with a fatal stab wound to her back. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Several hours later, at about 6:39 a.m., officers responded to a separate 911 call reporting an unconscious person near Astoria Park South and Shore Boulevard. Police found an unresponsive man in the park, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. An NYPD source identified the man as Joseph Azzaretto, Golding's husband.  KATSINA STATE GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES THE PASSING OF RETIRED MAJOR GENERAL RABE ABUBAKAR.


Katsina state government has announced the death of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar, who had been in bandits' captivity for several weeks.


A statement made available to newsmen by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Nasiru Mu'azu, confirmed the development.


According to the statement, the retired General died from complications arising from diabetes and hypertension.


It described his abduction and subsequent death as not only a loss to his family and Katsina state, but also a monumental loss to the nation.


The statement conveyed Governor Dikko Umaru Radda's deepest condolences to the family of the late General and Nigerians at large.


Governor Radda described the incident as a dark moment and a reminder of the urgent need for a collective and intensified effort against criminal elements threatening the peace and security of communities.


The Governor reaffirmed his administration's commitment to working closely with the Federal Government and security agencies to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.


The statement also assured residents of the state's unwavering resolve to eradicate banditry and guarantee the safety of lives and property across Katsina State.
