 How Bauchi Accountant-General Transferred State Funds to Private Company - Witness   Trial of the Accountant-General of Bauchi State, Sirajo Muhammed Jaja continued on Monday, September 21, 2026 at the Federal High Court in Abuja presided over by Justice Obiora Egwuatu with a witness revealing how Jaja diverted state funds to a private company. Jaja is facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC ,  alongside Aliyu Abubakar, Abubakar Muhammed Hafiz, Ari Manga and Muhammed Aminu Bose, for alleged corruption. The defendants are being prosecuted by the EFCC on an amended five-count charge of money laundering, diversion of public funds, and criminal misappropriation of funds to the tune of N1,635,270,350.9 (One Billion, Six Hundred and Thirty-five Million, Two Hundred and Seventy Thousand, Three Hundred and Fifty Naira, Nine Kobo).  KATSINA STATE GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCES THE PASSING OF RETIRED MAJOR GENERAL RABE ABUBAKAR.


Katsina state government has announced the death of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar, who had been in bandits' captivity for several weeks.


A statement made available to newsmen by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Nasiru Mu'azu, confirmed the development.


According to the statement, the retired General died from complications arising from diabetes and hypertension.


It described his abduction and subsequent death as not only a loss to his family and Katsina state, but also a monumental loss to the nation.


The statement conveyed Governor Dikko Umaru Radda's deepest condolences to the family of the late General and Nigerians at large.


Governor Radda described the incident as a dark moment and a reminder of the urgent need for a collective and intensified effort against criminal elements threatening the peace and security of communities.


The Governor reaffirmed his administration's commitment to working closely with the Federal Government and security agencies to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.


The statement also assured residents of the state's unwavering resolve to eradicate banditry and guarantee the safety of lives and property across Katsina State.
