 NIGERIA IMMIGRATION SERVICE EXTENDS UK PASSPORT INTERVENTION TO OCTOBER 3 The Nigeria Immigration Service has extended its special passport intervention exercise in London and Manchester to October 3, 2026, following a high turnout by applicants. In a statement, the Service Public Relations Officer, Akinsola Akinlabi, indicates that the exercise is progressing smoothly at the two centres despite initial challenges, with 1,477 Nigerians processed and enrolled within the first four days. More than half have already had their passports produced and dispatched. The Service reiterates that passport applications and payments are fully automated and cashless.  It adds, the extension, approved under the directive of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, runs from September 19 to October 3 and is intended to accommodate the increasing demand.

Re-elected Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State has promised to consolidate on previous achievements and intensify the implementation of people-oriented policies.


The governor, who stated this after he was declared winner of the June 20 election in Ekiti State, also extended hands of fellowship to other contestants to join hands with him in moving Ekiti State forward.


Governor Oyebanji, while expressing gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his support, also commended INEC, security agencies and all stakeholders for the peaceful election.
