 VANDAL CRUSHED TO DEATH UNDER COLLAPSED TRANSMISSION TOWER IN DELTA STATE A suspected vandal has been crushed to death under a collapsed vandalised  transmission tower along the 330kV Ughelli-Benin transmission line in Delta State. The incident was discovered during a line patrol carried out by the Delta Sub-Region, Lines Maintenance Department of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), following the tripping of the line on earth fault on the Ughelli - Benin 330kV Transmission line. A statement by the TCN indicates that the patrol team traced the fault to Tower 101, which had collapsed. The body of the suspected vandal was found crushed between the tower members. Tower 101 on the adjacent Ughelli - Sapele 330kV  transmission line had also been vandalized.

U.S military ended killings of Christians in Nigeria, says Trump


United States President Donald Trump has claimed that the US military has ended the killing of Christians in Nigeria.


Trump made the remark on Friday during an event in Washington, where he spoke about his administration’s security operations and efforts to combat terrorism in different parts of the world.


According to the US President, American intervention in Nigeria played a major role in halting attacks allegedly targeted at Christian communities, particularly in areas affected by insurgency and violent extremist activities.


“As you know, we recently struck Nigeria and largely ended the slaughter of great Christian populations.


He described the situation before the alleged intervention as severe, claiming that thousands of innocent people, including women, children and the elderly, had been killed in brutal attacks.


“They have a great Christian population. They were being butchered, butchered thousands and thousands of people were being killed, children, women, old people, just being slaughtered, hatched to death.


Trump added that the alleged military action significantly weakened those responsible for the attacks.


“They know that if they go further, the attack will be far greater and that they don’t want to really get involved anymore so much. We hit them very hard. We knocked out their leader. We knocked out their second leader and their third leader.”.
