The Yoruba movie industry has been thrown into deep mourning once again following the sad demise of veteran actor and cleric, Pastor Taiwo Adeshina, popularly known as Elegbeje Ado. According to reports, the beloved screen icon passed away on Monday, June 29, 2026, after a brief illness, leaving a vacuum in both the film industry and his spiritual community.

On Tuesday, June 30, 2026, prominent Nollywood filmmaker and actor Kunle Afod took to social media to confirm the heartbreaking news. In an emotional tribute, Afod celebrated the late actor's immense contributions to Yoruba cinema and his exceptional ability to bring cultural characters to life.


Afod praised Elegbeje Ado's dedication, describing him as a performer who possessed a unique talent for portraying traditional titleholders, community elders, and deeply cultural figures. His authentic emotional delivery made him a household name and a respected figure among his peers.
