Former Catholic Knight arrested over alleged ritual cleansing exercise in Nnewi Vigilantes in Nnewi have arrested Sir James Louis Okoye, a former Catholic Knight of St John International, who reportedly renounced Christianity during the official opening of Our Lady of Assumpta Catholic Church, Nnewi in January this year over non-recognition of late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah. Okoye was arrested after he was seen on Saturday wearing a red dress with fresh palm fronds between his lips, with a bell in hand, performing what he believed was the ritual cleansing of Nnewi land on the streets of the town. Okoye gained popularity in January, during the official consecration of the Nnewi Catholic Cathedral, where he decried the non-recognition Late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who he believed built the cathedral to almost completion before his death.  14 killed, 28 injured after bus crashes into truck in northern Uganda 

  At least 14 people were killed and 28 others injured after a bus collided head-on with a truck in a remote area of northern Uganda.

The crash happened late Tuesday at a trading center along a highway leading to the northern city of Gulu. Authorities said initial reports indicate the bus driver was traveling at a high speed and lost control while attempting to avoid a pedestrian crossing the road.

The bus then struck an oncoming trailer truck, causing the deadly collision.

Fatal traffic accidents are common in Uganda and other parts of East Africa, where many roads are narrow and difficult to navigate. Authorities often cite speeding and driver errors as major causes of crashes.
