A 46-YEAR-OLD, LORENZO GONZALEZ, WAS WORKING WITH A CREW AT A CONSTRUCTION SITE IN HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS, WHEN HIS LIFE WAS UNEXPECTEDLY CUT SHORT.(PHOTO).

 A recent tragic "workplace accident"... may not have been an accident at all. 

 A 46-year-old, Lorenzo Gonzalez, was working with a crew at a construction site in Harris County, Texas, when his life was unexpectedly cut short.  

At approximately 7:45 a.m. on Monday, July 13th, Lorenzo lost his life after plummeting down a 30-foot utility shaft.

A call to 911 was immediately placed after Lorenzo fell down the shaft, and first responders quickly arrived on the scene. 

Upon their arrival, a member of the Sheldon Fire Department wasted no time climbing down the shaft to attempt to save Lorenzo's life.

 Sadly, when first responders reached Lorenzo, they determined that nothing could be done at that point and Lorenzo was pronounced deceased.

According to reports, tensions were running high at the site on Monday morning.

 Authorities say that prior to the fatal fall, Lorenzo had been in an altercation with a co-worker. They believe the altercation may have become physical, and Lorenza may have been pushed into the shaft. 

 The Harris County Sheriff's Department has launched an investigation into the death of Lorenzo Gonzalez. They are working to determine if this was simply a workplace accident or something much darker. No arrests have been made at this time in connection to the passing of Lorenzo Gonzalez. 

Lorenzo Gonzalez was described as a hard worker and family man who left behind a wife, children, and grandchildren.  Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this tragic incident.
