 Heavy Rainfall Causes Building Collapse, Power Pole Damage in Awka By Ernest Igboanugo The prolonged rainfall of September 22, has caused significant damage in parts of Awka, leaving families displaced and raising fresh concerns over erosion and public infrastructure. Two buildings reportedly collapsed at Umudioka by Agu Oye in Awka following the failure of a nearby gully erosion site during the heavy downpour. Household belongings were scattered around the affected buildings, as residents assessed the extent of the damage. No death was recorded, although one affected family was rendered homeless. One of the affected family members, Okwy Nweke, said the incident occurred suddenly after floodwater became improperly channelled and gradually created a gully that weakened the surrounding area. Nweke appealed to the Anambra State Government for urgent assistance, explaining that the family lost several belongings to the incident and currently requires support to secure accommodation. T...

 Actor Brad Pitt's daughter Vivienne files to legally drop 'Pitt' from last name


Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, the 18-year-old daughter of Hollywood actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, has filed a legal petition to remove "Pitt" from her surname.


According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Vivienne is seeking to change her name from Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie, citing "personal" reasons for the request.


The move follows her recent professional use of the surname Jolie, as she was credited as Vivienne Jolie in the Playbill for the Broadway production of The Outsiders, which she helped produce alongside her mother.


Vivienne is the latest of the former couple’s children to distance herself from the Pitt surname. Her sister, Shiloh, previously obtained court approval to legally remove "Pitt" from her name after turning 18. Siblings Zahara and Maddox have also sought similar name changes.


Sources close to Brad Pitt previously told TMZ they believe Angelina Jolie has contributed to the estrangement between the actor and his children, describing Vivienne’s filing as another chapter in what they claim is an ongoing effort to distance the children from their father.


Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie finalized their divorce in late 2024 after years of legal proceedings. However, they remain involved in a separate legal dispute over Château Miraval, the French winery they jointly purchased during their marriage.


Vivienne and her twin brother, Knox, are the youngest of the former couple’s six children.
