An Amish community was shocked when one of their own was discovered face down, nude, and bruised while her pet goat wandered aimlessly around her lifeless body.
Rutland, Ohio- A small tight-knit Amish community came together to build a greenhouse on March 12th of 2025. 28-year-old Rosanna Kinsinger was amongst the workers that day. She had no way of knowing that she was working side-by-side with the man who would take her life.
During that day's labor, the young school teacher caught the eye of 19-year-old Samuel Hochstelter. As the two worked, Samuel spent most of the day attempting to flirt with Rosanna.
However, Samuel's efforts to impress Rosanna fell flat. Rosanna was clearly uninterested; ignoring his constant advances. When his attempts to impress Rosanna failed, Samuel decided that he would not be denied.
After work was done that day, Samuel would pay a visit to Rosanna's trailer and take by force what she was denying him.
The next morning, everyone showed up to go back to work on the greenhouse. As work began, it was quickly noticed that there was one member of the community missing. Rosanna had not shown up at the pre-determined time, and people began to wonder where she was.
After a brief discussion, it fell upon Rosanna's neighbor, Mose Troyer, to check in and see why she had failed to show up for work. Mose made his way to Rosanna's trailer, not knowing that he would soon make a discovery that would turn the close community upside down. After getting no answer when he knocked on Rosanna's front door, Mose ventured into her trailer. As he made his way through the home, he noticed that Rosanna's beloved pet goat was loose inside of the home and thought it was strange. A few moments later, the goat would be completely forgotten when Mose stumbled onto a disturbing scene.
As he entered Rosanna's bedroom, Mose was shocked to see the young school teacher face down and nude on her bed. It was soon determined that Rosanna was the victim of a violent r*** that ended with her life being taken.
Rosanna's death was reported to local law enforcement. While the Meigs County Sheriff's Office launched an investigation into this disturbing crime, the community gathered to support one another and plan Rosanna's funeral together.
One member of the community was trying to ingratiate himself into Rosanna's family. At the time, no one found it strange that Samuel was being especially helpful. He was there, right by the family's side, as they mourned. Samuel even offered to help Rosanna's father prepare the barn for her funeral.
The community was about to receive a second shock when the sheriff's office concluded their investigation. It was soon revealed that the killer had been right there with them all along.
Samuel Hochstelter was arrested and charged in Rosanna's death. Investigators had determined that Samuel had entered Rosanna's home and r**** her. Rosanna had died from Samuel smothering her with a blanket during the @ssault.
Samuel Hochstelter faced justice for his evil deeds this week in an Ohio courtroom. Samuel pleaded guilty on Friday, July 24th and was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.
This sentence brought a final conclusion to a dark chapter in this small Amish community. We hope that the family, friends and students of Rosanna can find some peace, and begin the healing process.
