The Nnewi North Legislative Council on 24 July, has passed into third reading a bill for a byelaw to prohibit the indiscriminate construction of bumps on roads and streets in Nnewi North LGA.
The bill, sponsored by the Leader of the Council, Rt. Hon. Chijioke Nwizugbe, seeks to regulate the erection of speed bumps and put an end to unauthorised road obstructions across the Local Government Area.
According to the Council, the passage of the bill reaffirms the commitment of the Hon. Echezona Anazodo-led Administration to building a progressive and well-structured Nnewi North.
The bill now awaits the assent of the Executive Chairman of Nnewi North LGA to become law.
