 Canada-based Nigerian woman alleges husband still slept with side chicks despite public fidelity oath

A Canada-based Nigerian woman, Mrs. Ezinne Nwanorue, has alleged that her husband, Franklin Nwanorue, engaged in an extramarital affair despite the couple’s public oath of sexual fidelity on social media.

Mrs. Nwanorue made the claim on Thursday in a post on her Facebook page, Ezinne Frank Nwanorue. She said she had endured significant hardship in the marriage even though her husband financed her relocation abroad.

The couple drew widespread attention on social media on Tuesday after posting videos in which they each swore not to engage in extramarital affairs and invoked death as the consequence of any breach.

In his video, Mr. Nwanorue declared: “I confess and I promise that if I come to Canada and cheat on you, let me die in the name of Jesus.” He stated that his wife had been directed by God to make the declaration and that he agreed because he wanted the best for her and their children. He pledged to remain faithful to their marriage vows.

Mrs. Nwanorue responded with her own video, saying: “This is me confessing to my husband, Franklin Chimaobim Nwanorue, that I will remain sexually faithful to him, and if I become unfaithful, let me die, in the name of Jesus.”

On Thursday, Mrs. Nwanorue shared what she described as a comment from a woman in Nigeria whom she identified as her husband’s “side chick.” According to the post, the woman claimed that Mr. Nwanorue had continued the affair even after making his public confession.

“This is a comment from my husband’s side chick in Nigeria. She confessed that even after my husband made his confession, he still slept with one of his side chicks. I have suffered a lot at his hands,” Mrs. Nwanorue wrote.

She added that her husband had sponsored her move abroad and that her remaining obligation was to assist him in obtaining a visa. “But my husband will not live to enjoy Canada if he cheats on me,” she stated. “He has sworn an oath to be sexually faithful after he comes to Canada. I believe in God and I trust His judgment. My husband must surely die if he cheats on me.”
