 PRESS RELEASE OYO POLICE ARREST SIX SUSPECTED COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY DEALERS, RECOVER €8,900 SUSPECTED FAKE EURO NOTES The Oyo State Police Command has arrested six suspects linked to the possession, circulation and alleged production of counterfeit Euro currency, following a successful patrol operation by operatives of the Command. On 1 September 2026, at about 7:30 p.m., operatives on township patrol around the Labo–Wesley area intercepted three men travelling on a motorcycle. A search conducted on them led to the recovery of 89 pieces of suspected counterfeit €100 notes, with a total face value of €8,900. The suspects were identified as Tijani Saheed, 50, who was found in possession of the suspected counterfeit currency; Oni Oladapo, 67, who is alleged to have supplied the money; Adebayo Saheed, 52, who was the second passenger on the motorcycle; and Hammed Karemu, 25, the motorcycle rider. CAS WILL DETERMINE THE WINNER OF THE AFCON TITLE DISPUTE BETWEEN MOROCCO AND SENEGAL ON OCTOBER 8, AFTER SENEGAL'S APPEALED. (PHOTO).

 The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will determine the winner of the AFCON title dispute between Morocco and Senegal on October 8, after Senegal's appeal against being stripped of their title was lodged with the Swiss-based tribunal .

Senegal were originally awarded the title after winning the final 1-0 in extra time, but CAF stripped them of the title and awarded it to Morocco after Senegal's players walked off the pitch in protest against a penalty awarded to Morocco in the closing moments of normal time.

The CAS panel will hold a hearing behind closed doors at its headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, and will start deliberations after the hearing. A final decision will be rendered at a later date 1. Senegal's football authorities had 21 days to appeal the CAF decision and have consistently maintained that they will challenge the ruling
