New court documents show that late actress Daveigh Chase left behind an estate valued at an estimated $400,000.
Probate filings submitted on July 8 in Los Angeles County Superior Court state that Chase's estate consists of about $400,000 in personal property and no real estate.
According to the documents, Chase died without a will. Her mother, Cathy Chase, has asked the court to appoint her as administrator of the estate.
The petition also requests permission for Cathy Chase to manage the estate under California's Independent Administration of Estates Act and approve a $400,000 bond.
A probate hearing has been scheduled for Aug. 12 in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
The filings state that Chase died in Los Angeles on June 16 at the age of 35. They also note that she was unhoused at the time of her death and list a Chatsworth, California, address as her last known residence.
Court documents further state that Chase was never married, had no children and is survived by her mother, Cathy Chase, and her father, John Schwallier.
A separate filing outlines the responsibilities Cathy Chase would take on if appointed personal representative of the estate, including protecting estate assets, notifying creditors, maintaining financial records and filing an inventory with the court.
Chase was best known for voicing Lilo Pelekai in Disney's Lilo & Stitch and playing Samara Morgan in The Ring.
A medical examiner later listed her cause of death as AIDS, with chronic polysubstance use noted as another significant condition. In the years before her death, Chase experienced homelessness and struggled with addiction.
