 Beloved actor Ras Ajai, 47, 'shot dead' while walking down a street A beloved film star and musician has di£d. Ras Ajai, whose real name was Brian Todd Boucher, played JLP political enforcer Claudie Massop in the 2024 film Bob Marley: One Love biopic. He was reportedly shot in Waterford, St. Catherine, Jamaica, at the age of 47. He rubbed shoulders with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle when they arrived at the movie's Jamaican premiere. Another person is reported to have sustained injuries during the assault, which remains under investigation by St Catherine South Police. Sources say the reggae and dancehall artist, vocalist and composer was walking down a street with a companion on Saturday, August 1, when they were attacked by armed criminals travelling in a vehicle. EFCC Secures Interim Forfeiture of Landed Property in Abuja

 

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, July 13, 2026, secured an interim forfeiture of Plot 1, Sabon Gida, Cadastral Zone, Abuja. 

The order was granted by Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT,  High Court, Apo, Abuja, following an application filed by the Commission.

Moving the motion, EFCC’s counsel, Samuel Ugwuegbulan, informed the court that the application was filed to preserve the property pending the conclusion of the investigation by the  EFCC.

He also told the court that the application was supported by a 13-paragraph affidavit deposed to by one Ifeoma Ezire, who is an administrative staff in the Legal and Prosecution Department of the Commission.

“My lord, we rely on all the provisions in the affidavit and we also filed a written address in support of this application which we seek to adopt as our argument in support of our application and we urge the court to grant the leave sought on the motion” he said.

In his ruling, Justice Onwuegbuzie ordered the interim forfeiture of the said property at Plot 1, Sabon Gida, Cadastral Zone, Abuja,  after carefully examining the affidavit brought by the EFCC.
