 EFCC Arraigns One for  N700m Fraud in Lagos  The Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Friday, September 4, 2026, arraigned Osaretin Osagiede before Justice Olukayode Ogunjobi of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja,  over an alleged N700 million fraud. Osagiede is standing trial on a three-count charge bordering on unauthorised access to computer material and receiving stolen property to the tune of N700 million.  Count one reads: “That you Osaretin Osagiede and Zacharia Lorshe (at large), between March, 2025 and January 2026, in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, intentionally caused the Ravenpay user accounts' two-factor authentication (2FA) method to be bypassed, with the intent to secure unauthorised access to the bank's data and committed an offence contrary to Section 387 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.  FOC WESTERN NAVAL COMMAND COMMENDS 81 DIVISION, PLEDGES ENHANCED SECURITY COLLABORATION


The Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Abdullahi Mustapha, has commended the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Adebayo Abdulrahman Babalola, and troops of the Division for their commitment to sustaining peace and security across Lagos and Ogun States.


Rear Admiral Mustapha gave the commendation on Tuesday, 28 July 2026, during a courtesy visit to the GOC at Headquarters 81 Division, Victoria Island, Lagos. He conveyed the appreciation of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, and stated that the visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Nigerian Navy and the Nigerian Army in addressing emerging security challenges. He emphasized that sustained intelligence sharing and inter-agency cooperation remain critical to safeguarding lives, property and critical national assets.


Responding, Major General Babalola appreciated the FOC and his delegation for the visit and reaffirmed 81 Division’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the Western Naval Command and other security agencies. He noted that no single agency can effectively address contemporary security challenges alone, stressing that sustained collaboration, joint training and intelligence sharing are essential to maintaining security within the 81 Division Area of Responsibility.


The visit was attended by senior officers of Headquarters 81 Division and the Western Naval Command and concluded with the exchange of souvenirs, the signing of the Visitors’ Book and a group photograph.
