GENERAL HOSPITAL AJEROMI UNVEILS NEW PHYSIOTHERAPY DEPARTMENT FOR PATIENTS
General Hospital, Ajeromi, now has a new physiotherapy department in place for the use of patients.
The long-stretch bungalow building was donated by Honourable Saad Lukman Olumoh, Honourable Member, Lagos State House of Assembly (LAHA), representing Ajeromi Ifelodun, Constituency 1.
Speaking at the event, held inside the premises of the hospital at Ajeromi, Honourable Olumoh gave thanks to the Almighty for making the day a reality.
He said the idea of doing something worthwhile for the people of his Constituency, especially in the area of health, has been one of his major priorities, adding that the people should feel free to visit the hospital when in need of medical attention.
He said he does not doubt that the hospital, located in his constituency, deserves all support and assistance towards providing adequate and quality healthcare, hence the construction and donation of the edifice.
According to the Honourable, who was accompanied by his wife, Dr. 'Lara Olumoh, although government is doing its best at providing quality healthcare services for Lagosians, it is also a good thing for individuals, stakeholders and good-spirited residents to contribute their quotas in any way they can, in support of government.
He said he will continue doing everything in his capacity for the betterment of the people of his constituency and environment.
While declaring the department open, Hon. Olumoh advocated for the good usage of the building towards meeting the purpose it was meant for.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Yetunde Sotunde, appreciated Hon. Olumoh for his kind gesture. She said the purpose for which the building was constructed will never be defeated as it will be put to good use and properly maintained for the benefit of patients who will visit for medical attention.
She, however, called on the people, especially residents of the area, to cultivate the practice of visiting the hospital for their medical needs, as and when due.
Eminent personalities at the event include the Asiwaju of Awodiora, Alhaji Simbat Oluola and APC local Party Chairman, Ifelodun, Mr. Babalola Olamilekan
Other personalities are Hon. Olaonipekun Ajayi, APC Women Leader, Ifelodun; Alhaja Medinat Lawata, Former Council Leader; Hon. Akeem Sulaiman, Head of Physiotherapy Department, General Hospital, Lagos; Mr. Ibrahim Olasunkami Shogbamu, Hospital Administrator, and Mr. Akeem Oluwa, as well as all Wards Chairmen of the Constituency.
The Medical Director and CEO of the Hospital, Dr. Yetunde Sotunde, later gave a guide tour of the facility to Honourable Olumoh and others, including testing the physiotherapy machines and other medical equipment in the facility.
