 World’s Youngest Reigning Monarch , King Oyo, Dies at 34 King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, the traditional ruler of Uganda’s Tooro Kingdom who became the world’s youngest reigning monarch after ascending the throne at three, has died at the age of 34. The monarch reportedly died on Thursday, with the Prime Minister of the Tooro Kingdom, Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki, announcing his death on Friday. The cause of death was not immediately disclosed. However, Ugandan media reports quoted a government minister as saying that King Oyo had been critically ill and was receiving medical treatment in the United States. Reacting to the development, Akiiki described the monarch’s death as a major loss to the royal family and the people of Tooro. He urged members of the kingdom to remain united and calm while mourning the traditional ruler. A 43-year-old Ghanaian TikTok user has been sentenced to prison for publishing videos falsely claiming that former President John Mahama buried 32 cows alive as part of a ritual to win the 2024 presidential elections. 


The Accra Circuit Court handed down a one-year imprisonment sentence after the TikTok user, Camilla, pleaded guilty to charges of publishing false news and engaging in offensive conduct related to the unsubstantiated videos about President Mahama. 


When asked by the court to provide the location of the alleged sacrifice, Camilla was unable to furnish any evidence to support her claims. The court did not offer an option for bail or a fine.
