 Michelle Obama 'doesn't miss' her daughters after they left home but Barack Obama 'cried' when they went to college Michelle Obama recently joked about how life has changed since her daughters, Sasha and Malia, left home. On her IMO podcast with Jon Stewart and her brother Craig Robinson, the former First Lady quipped that she doesn’t miss them, even though she loves them dearly and still sees them often.  She contrasted her reaction with Barack Obama’s, noting that he cried when they went off to college, while she cheerfully said goodbye. Sasha graduated from USC in 2023, and Malia, who finished Harvard in 2021, is now building a career in Hollywood. Man arrested after crashing car into Jay-Z and Beyonce’s mansion gate in New York


A man has been arrested after driving ‘at speed’ up Beyonce and Jay-Z’s driveway, causing damage by hitting their gate.

 

The 63-year-old man, described as ‘confused’ by police, failed to stop before crashing into the gate at the singers’ $26,000,000 (£ 19 million) East Hampton home.

 

Police reported he was driving ‘at a high rate of speed up the driveway’ but didn’t ‘stop at the closed mechanical driveway gates’, resulting in ‘significant damage’.

 

It’s not believed he meant the couple any harm, having stopped at another house down the road looking for a woman but was told she did not live there.

 

Detective Sergeant Jennifer Dunne told Page Six that he ‘has no criminal history and he seemed confused at the scene and after the arrest '.

 

‘He did not make any threats or mention names of the residents. It could just be a chance he picked that house if he was having a medical issue.’

 

She added that the other homeowner said he had ‘seemed confused’ after asking by name for a woman, continuing on when he was told she didn’t live there.

 

The unnamed man was taken to Stoney Brook Hospital, suffering from pain.

 

His car was impounded, and police completed a criminal trespass and criminal mischief affidavit.

 

The police are still investigating but Dunne confirmed there were ‘no weapons found, no notes found, no direct threats made and no direct mention of residents of the house so we are not sure he even knew who lived in that house at this point.’

 

It’s not known if the power couple were home at the time, as Jay-Z is currently on his 30 Tour, having performed in New York last week.
