 Protests erupt as Moroccan man dies in Italy after being pinned down by cops in case likened to George Floyd in U.S A migrant has died after he was pepper sprayed and hogtied by Italian cops, sparking a protest.  Abderrahim Fakir, 42, died while handcuffed in Bologna on Sunday, July 19, after police scrambled to reports of the Moroccan man behaving erratically.  His death has drawn comparisons to the death of George Floyd who died after a police officer knelt on his neck during an arrest in Minneapolis, US, in May 2020. Footage showed two police officers pinning Fakir, who ran a small cleaning business in the city, face-down to the ground as he screamed for help.A third person, believed to be a resident of the Pilastro neighbourhood, was seen holding his feet down as the officers restrained him.  The video also shows two paramedics standing around them and three other people spectating as the struggle unfolded. Man arrested after crashing car into Jay-Z and Beyonce’s mansion gate in New York


A man has been arrested after driving ‘at speed’ up Beyonce and Jay-Z’s driveway, causing damage by hitting their gate.

 

The 63-year-old man, described as ‘confused’ by police, failed to stop before crashing into the gate at the singers’ $26,000,000 (£ 19 million) East Hampton home.

 

Police reported he was driving ‘at a high rate of speed up the driveway’ but didn’t ‘stop at the closed mechanical driveway gates’, resulting in ‘significant damage’.

 

It’s not believed he meant the couple any harm, having stopped at another house down the road looking for a woman but was told she did not live there.

 

Detective Sergeant Jennifer Dunne told Page Six that he ‘has no criminal history and he seemed confused at the scene and after the arrest '.

 

‘He did not make any threats or mention names of the residents. It could just be a chance he picked that house if he was having a medical issue.’

 

She added that the other homeowner said he had ‘seemed confused’ after asking by name for a woman, continuing on when he was told she didn’t live there.

 

The unnamed man was taken to Stoney Brook Hospital, suffering from pain.

 

His car was impounded, and police completed a criminal trespass and criminal mischief affidavit.

 

The police are still investigating but Dunne confirmed there were ‘no weapons found, no notes found, no direct threats made and no direct mention of residents of the house so we are not sure he even knew who lived in that house at this point.’

 

It’s not known if the power couple were home at the time, as Jay-Z is currently on his 30 Tour, having performed in New York last week.
