 BAUCHI STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE SWIFT RESPONSE: POLICE/COMMUNITY ARREST TWO ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS, RECOVER STOLEN VALUABLES IN BIRSHI GANDU In its unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property, the Bauchi State Police Command,  has recorded yet another commendable breakthrough following prompt response to a distress report. On 17th October, 2026 at about 1015hrs, four complainants (two males and two females), all of Birshi Gandu, reported at 'E' Division that on the same day, while they were asleep in their compound housing Cozy Resort Hotel, three hoodlums armed with knives and machetes forcefully broke in and dispossessed them of their personal belongings including Samsung Galaxy S22 and S23, Redmi Note 14, iPhones, iPads, a Lenovo laptop, a Samsung tablet, power banks, earpods and other valuables running into millions of Naira, including office ID cards and driver's license.  Nigerian woman dies of cardiac arrest while visiting the UK


A Nigerian woman visiting her family in the UK has died of a cardiac arrest.


The family of Christiana Nwosu have now launched a fundraising campaign to repatriate the remains of their mother.


Chijioke Metuka, who signed the GoFundMe appeal on behalf of the Nwosu family, wrote that Christiana Nwosu died on July 19, 2026.


Metuka described the deceased as “a beacon of light, love and warmth” whose passing had created an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who knew her.


The family said its greatest wish was to honour her memory by returning her body to Nigeria for burial.


The appeal read: “During this time of immense grief, Izuchukwu and his family’s deepest wish is to honour her memory by laying her to rest in her homeland of Nigeria, surrounded by her extended family and roots.


“Repatriating a loved one from the UK to Nigeria comes with significant and unexpected financial burdens.”


According to the family, repatriating her remains from the UK would cost about £10,000.
