One thing I’ve noticed since I came to Nigeria… some of the people we call “rich” in Cameroon might actually be considered poor here in Nigeria. πŸ˜‚πŸ‡¨πŸ‡²πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬ You will hear some Cameroonians say: Life in Cameroon is better because the gap between the rich and poor is not too much. An average man lives better than an average man in Nigeria  But I think the problem is that we sometimes measure wealth differently. πŸ˜‚ Those rich people in Cameroon are more like the average man in Nigeria  In Nigeria, you can see somebody with a house, two cars and serious money, yet the person will still say: Me?  Nigerian woman dies of cardiac arrest while visiting the UK

A Nigerian woman visiting her family in the UK has died of a cardiac arrest.

The family of Christiana Nwosu have now launched a fundraising campaign to repatriate the remains of their mother.

Chijioke Metuka, who signed the GoFundMe appeal on behalf of the Nwosu family, wrote that Christiana Nwosu died on July 19, 2026.

Metuka described the deceased as “a beacon of light, love and warmth” whose passing had created an irreplaceable void in the lives of those who knew her.

The family said its greatest wish was to honour her memory by returning her body to Nigeria for burial.

The appeal read: “During this time of immense grief, Izuchukwu and his family’s deepest wish is to honour her memory by laying her to rest in her homeland of Nigeria, surrounded by her extended family and roots.

“Repatriating a loved one from the UK to Nigeria comes with significant and unexpected financial burdens.”

According to the family, repatriating her remains from the UK would cost about £10,000.
