Veteran Journalist and Former Nigerian Ambassador Dele Cole Dies at 86 Prominent Nigerian diplomat and veteran media executive Ambassador Dele Cole has passed away at the age of 86. Family sources confirmed that the elder statesman died on Thursday morning. A Distinguished Career in Journalism Cole built an influential career that bridged the worlds of media and public service. He notably served as the Managing Director of the Daily Times, steering one of Nigeria's most historical and prominent national newspapers at the height of its reach. Diplomatic Engagements in South America Beyond his contributions to Nigerian journalism, Cole was appointed by the federal government to serve as Nigeria's ambassador to two major South American nations, Argentina and Brazil. Anambra State First Lady,  Nonye Soludo, has shared photos with her husband, Charles Soludo and their children, including Ozonna. 


In the photos posted on her official social media handles on Sunday, July 26, 2026, Ozonna, who was conspicuously absent at his sister, Oduko’s graduation in the United Kingdom, is seen with his arms around his parents and siblings. 


“Happy Sunday everyone,” she captioned the post. 


Ozonna also posted some of the photos, writing; “Peace and Love. Happy Sunday.”
