  Cops crash massive LA street takeover, towing 100 cars and detaining hundreds Cops sprung a massive sting on alleged street-racing hooligans in South Los Angeles early Saturday — reportedly detaining hundreds and preparing to haul away scores of vehicles. The Los Angeles Police Department told The California Post that officers issued a tactical alert at 3:21 a.m. and were still working the scene hours later, as of 9 a.m. No details were immediately available on arrests or citations from the LAPD. Video from the scene showed dozens of officers surrounding a massive crowd as people wandered between cars trapped at the intersection of South Figueroa Street and West Alondra Boulevard.  PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS WASIU OLANREWAJU-SMART AS SPECIAL ADVISER ON NATIONAL ASSEMBLY MATTERS


President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr. Wasiu Olanrewaju-Smart as Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters, House of Representatives.


A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, says Olanrewaju-Smart replaces Ibrahim Olanrewaju, who resigned to contest an elective position in his home state.


The statement describes the new appointee as an accomplished scholar and public policy expert with academic qualifications from Lead City University, Harvard University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the London School of Public Relations.


It adds that Olanrewaju-Smart has extensive legislative experience, having served in various capacities in the House of Representatives, including as Chief of Staff to the Speaker in the 9th and 10th Assemblies, before joining the Presidency in October 2023 as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Intergovernmental Affairs.


According to the statement, President Tinubu is confident that the new Special Adviser will deploy his experience and expertise to strengthen legislative coordination and enhance relations between the Presidency, Ministries, Departments and Agencies, and the House of Representatives.

The appointment takes immediate effect.
