Shania Twain says she has found her "forever true love" in husband Frédéric Thiébaud as the couple marks 15 years of marriage.
Speaking to PEOPLE, the country star said Thiébaud is the person she sees herself growing old with and believes he would have been her lifelong partner even if they had met much earlier in life.
Twain also credited her husband for keeping their relationship strong through open communication.
She said Thiébaud is comfortable expressing his feelings and prefers to talk through disagreements, while she is more likely to take time alone to reflect before discussing an issue. According to Twain, his approach has helped strengthen their marriage.
The couple began dating in 2009, got engaged in December 2010 and married on New Year's Day in 2011 during a small ceremony in Puerto Rico.
Their relationship began after Twain's marriage to producer Robert "Mutt" Lange ended.
