 Shatta Wale Says Burna Boy Cut Ties Over False Rumour of Affair With His Girlfriend in Ghana

Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale says his friendship with Nigerian Grammy winner Burna Boy fell apart after false claims spread that he slept with Burna Boy’s girlfriend during the singer’s visit to Ghana.

Speaking on a recent episode of TheHonestBunch podcast, Shatta Wale said Burna Boy personally called him before coming to Ghana and asked him to pick him up from the airport — something he said no other Nigerian artist had ever done.

According to him, he hosted Burna Boy like royalty during the trip.

“I was treating Burna Boy in Ghana like a king. I was showing him the roads of Ghana… I gave him a house, gave him cars. He wasn’t wasting money in Ghana,” he said.

Shatta Wale alleged that after he cut ties with some members of his team, they started calling people close to him with false stories to damage his relationships.

“They told Burna Boy that I was sleeping with his girl he brought to Ghana. He just believed it,” he claimed.

He added that after Burna Boy’s career blew up, he tried several times to reach out but got no response.

Shatta Wale said he even called Burna Boy’s mother, whom he described as “like my mother” because of their close bond, but she only gave excuses for why Burna wasn’t picking up.

“I didn’t know they’ve told them, and he’s decided not to talk to me,” he said.

“I just thank God that God has put Burna somewhere, but it hurts me that he didn’t listen to me to explain that this was what the boys were doing.”
