 Heavy Rainfall Causes Building Collapse, Power Pole Damage in Awka By Ernest Igboanugo The prolonged rainfall of September 22, has caused significant damage in parts of Awka, leaving families displaced and raising fresh concerns over erosion and public infrastructure. Two buildings reportedly collapsed at Umudioka by Agu Oye in Awka following the failure of a nearby gully erosion site during the heavy downpour. Household belongings were scattered around the affected buildings, as residents assessed the extent of the damage. No death was recorded, although one affected family was rendered homeless. One of the affected family members, Okwy Nweke, said the incident occurred suddenly after floodwater became improperly channelled and gradually created a gully that weakened the surrounding area. Nweke appealed to the Anambra State Government for urgent assistance, explaining that the family lost several belongings to the incident and currently requires support to secure accommodation. T...

 Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Donate $26 Million to Charities Across the U.S.


Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have donated a total of $26 million to a range of charities across the United States this week, according to Page Six.


The contributions were made in the days leading up to the couple’s upcoming wedding and were directed to organisations in multiple cities.


In New York, recipients included City Harvest Food Rescue Center, Food Bank for NYC, New York Cares, Education Through Music, Answer the Call – New York Police & Fire Widows’ & Children’s Benefit Fund, Musical Mentors Collaborative, After-School All-Stars New York and Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital at NYU Langone.


Additional donations were made to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Harvesters in Kansas City, Missouri, The Store in Nashville, Helping Harvest in Reading, Pennsylvania, and the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.


Representatives for Swift and Kelce, whose combined net worth is estimated at $2.8 billion, were cited as confirming the contributions.
