Abby Elliott has filed for divorce from producer and writer Bill Kennedy after nearly 10 years of marriage.
The actress, known for her role as Natalie on FX’s The Bear, filed court documents on Friday, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split, according to documents obtained by TMZ.
Elliott listed July 8 as the date of separation and requested joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s two children, Edith, 5, and William, 3.
In the filing, Elliott also requested spousal support from Kennedy and asked the court to prevent him from receiving support. She further requested that Kennedy contribute toward her legal fees.
A representative for Elliott has not yet commented on the filing.
Elliott and Kennedy first met in 2014 while working on the film *Sex Ed*, which Kennedy wrote and Elliott starred in alongside Glen Powell, Haley Joel Osment and Lorenza Izzo.
The pair began dating after meeting on the project, and Kennedy proposed in October 2015.
Speaking previously about the proposal, Elliott said Kennedy proposed at their apartment after about a year and a half of dating.
The couple married in September 2016 during a church ceremony in New England.
They welcomed their first child, daughter Edith, in October 2020, followed by their son William in June 2023.
