TROOPS OF OPERATION HADIN KAI FOIL TERRORIST EXTORTION MISSION, NEUTRALISE TERRORIST, RECOVER WEAPONS AND LOGISTICS ITEMS IN YOBE

Troops of Sector 2, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have successfully foiled a terrorist mission aimed at extorting innocent civilians in Yobe State, further degrading Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorist networks and denying them access to illicit sources of funding.

Acting on credible and actionable intelligence on the movement of two Volkswagen Golf vehicles and motorcycles conveying suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists to collect illegal levies from local communities, troops of Forward Operating Base (FOB) Bukarti, in conjunction with 27 Task Force Brigade, swiftly deployed on an aggressive fighting patrol to the Paya Kafiya axis at about on 19 July 2026.

The troops made contact with the terrorists and immediately engaged them with overwhelming and superior firepower. During the ensuing firefight, one of the Volkswagen Golf vehicles was successfully engaged and immobilised, while its driver was neutralised. Unable to withstand the troops’ overwhelming combat superiority, four other terrorists abandoned the vehicle and fled into the surrounding bush with  gunshot wounds.

Follow up exploitation operations conducted on 20 July 2026 along the Paya Kafiya–Garin Gada axis resulted in the recovery of the abandoned Volkswagen Golf vehicle, 25 rounds of belted PKT ammunition, one loaded AK-47 magazine, 15 empty PKT ammunition cases, assorted drugs, including paracetamol and nicotine products, as well as mechanical tools assessed to have supported terrorist logistics and sustainment activities.

The successful operation underscores the effectiveness of intelligence-led operations and the sustained offensive posture of Operation HADIN KAI in disrupting terrorist logistics, dismantling illicit revenue networks, and denying terrorists freedom of action across the North East Theatre. Operation HADIN KAI remains resolute in maintaining relentless pressure on terrorist elements and will continue to conduct intelligence-driven offensive operations, in synergy with other security agencies and with the continued support of law-abiding citizens, until terrorism is decisively defeated and enduring peace, security, and stability are fully restored across the region.

According to the Araba of Osogboland Chief Yemi Elebuibon, debunk the rumors that the new Ooni will eat the heart of the late Ooni of Ife as custom demands,so he cleared the air when he recently said that ''The heart of the late king would not be fed to the next Ooni. The eating of the heart of a departed King by an incoming one belonged to the past.It no longer exists.People still make this insinuation because many are barred from witnessing the burial of a king. What the incoming king will eat is the heart of an animal and not that of a human.Nobody will be buried with the Ooni.Nobody would be killed for any form o sacrifice''.Thank God he clarified the part that no one will be buried with the Ooni, because the rumors going round is that the Sarun, otherwise known as Abobakun,is on the run,to escape being buried with the late Ooni of Ife.Lowa Adimula of Ife,Oba Joseph Ijaodola, who is the Head o...
