 Payment of Assessment Fee, not Building Permit , Planning Ministry Clarifies. By Ruth Orji The Anambra State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development has  clarified developers  that payment of an assessment fee does not automatically confer approval or grant a development permit. The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Barr. Chijioke Ojukwu, stated this in a statement issued on August 24. According to the Commissioner, many developers mistakenly assume that payment of the assessment fee amounts to the approval of their building plans or the issuance of a development permit. He explained that Section 19 of the Physical Planning Regulations clearly states that payment of an assessment fee does not amount to the grant of a building permit, as the fee is strictly an application fee. Barr. Ojukwu further noted that the Ministry's Legal Department may raise administrative queries where proposed building plans violate the approved building cover...

 Angel Reese sets WNBA rebounding record with 26 boards, breaks season mark in same game

  Angel Reese made WNBA history twice in the Atlanta Dream’s 78-71 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks on Monday, setting a league record for rebounds in a single game while also establishing a new season mark.

Reese grabbed 26 rebounds, surpassing the previous WNBA record of 24 set by Chamique Holdsclaw in 2003. The performance also moved Reese’s season total to 458 rebounds, seven more than A’ja Wilson’s previous record of 451 set in 2024.

Despite struggling offensively, Reese finished with 11 points and secured her league-leading 27th double-double of the season with a basket with 13.9 seconds remaining. She said her focus was on contributing wherever needed to help her team win.

Reese, a three-time WNBA All-Star, set a rookie record with 13.1 rebounds per game in 2024 and also established the league record with 15 consecutive double-doubles during her rookie season with the Chicago Sky. She has led the WNBA in rebounding in each of her first two seasons and is again leading the league this year at 12.0 rebounds per game.
