COURT ADJOURNS EL-RUFAI, SIX OTHERS' #8.68 BILLION FRAUD CASE TO DECEMBER 8 The Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna has adjourned the trial of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, and six others over alleged corruption and money laundering involving an ₦8.68 billion Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) surveillance contract to December 8, 2026, following changes in the legal teams representing the prosecution and the first defendant. A statement by Head Media and Public Communications(ICPC), Okor Odey says the matter instituted by Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), came up before Honourable Justice Hauwa’u Buhari of the Federal High Court, Kaduna Judicial Division, where the newly appointed prosecution counsel, Ibrahim Muktar, announced his appearance and informed the court of a change in the prosecution team. Ayra Starr’s Mother Takes to Lagos Streets to Promote Upcoming 'Starr Girl' Album


Nene Aderibigbe, the mother of Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Ayra Starr, has taken maternal support to a new level by personally hitting the streets of Lagos to campaign for her daughter's upcoming studio album, Starr Girl.


Popularly known as "Genzmummy" on social media, Aderibigbe shared a vibrant video on Instagram capturing the grassroots promotional campaign. She was accompanied by the singer's sister and a dedicated group of women, all working together to rally public attention ahead of the project's official release.


A Mother's Blessing and Street Campaign


The street promotion combined faith, fashion, and creative marketing. Dressed in coordinated black outfits topped with matching purple headgear, the women marched through Lagos holding prominent placards. The signs proudly carried messages announcing the project, including one that read: "Stargirl album out on the 14th of August."


Alongside the physical parade, Aderibigbe dedicated the musical project spiritually. In her social media post, she shared a heartfelt caption: "We declare starrgirl album to God in the name of the father and the son and of the holy ghost."


Expanding Ayra Starr's Global Footprint


The highly anticipated Starr Girl project marks the latest major milestone for the Mavin Records signee, following the immense success of her previous discography. Born Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, the singer rose to international prominence after her self-titled debut EP in 2021. Since her debut, she has consistently delivered chart-topping hits and critically acclaimed bodies of work, including:

Ayra Starr's rapid ascendancy in the global music industry was further cemented when her 2022 hit single "Rush" earned a historic nomination for Best African Music Performance at the 66th Grammy Awards.
