Atiku pledges scholarship to viral Niger teen miner Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Sunday said his “heart breaks” each time he watches a viral video of a teenage artisanal miner, Yusuf Aliyu, speaking at a mining site in Niger State after the deaths of 37 miners in the state. Atiku, in a statement posted on his X handle, said he was prepared to support the boy’s education, describing him as a child whose intelligence and confidence should be nurtured in a classroom rather than by working at a mining site. “I have watched Yusuf Aliyu’s video repeatedly, and each time, my heart breaks. A child with such intelligence, clarity and confidence should be in a classroom building his future—not struggling for survival in a community surrounded by gold but buried in poverty. “I cannot look at him and see an ‘illegal miner.’ I see a Nigerian child failed by the country that should have protected him. I see brilliance trapped by poverty and enormous promise abandoned by leadership,” ...

DORIT AND PK KEMSLEY'S DIVORCE TURNS INTO A 'BATTLE OF THE EVIDENCE'. (PHOTO).

Dorit and PK Kemsley's divorce turns into a 'battle of the evidence'

Dorit and PK Kemsley’s divorce battle has become a textbook example of how financial disputes can dominate family law cases. In filings from late July, Dorit accused PK of trying to misuse Family Code 2108 to avoid trial and dodge mortgage payments, which she says puts her and their children at risk of losing their home.

She claims they had an informal agreement that PK would cover the mortgage instead of paying child support when he moved out in 2024. PK, however, denies this and argues Dorit hasn’t paid toward the mortgage, only covering utilities and staff costs.

The wardrobe spending dispute has also become central. PK alleges Dorit spent nearly $900,000 on designer clothing, which he says isn’t required by her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills contract.

Dorit counters that many items were returned and disclosed about $217,000 in wardrobe expenses for season 15. As attorney Rachael Bennett explained, if PK can prove the contract doesn’t mandate luxury spending, he may convince the court Dorit is financially irresponsible.

Dorit’s strongest defense is proving the pre‑existing agreement that PK would pay the mortgage, ideally with texts or emails showing he initially followed through.

PK has asked the court to force the sale of their home, citing foreclosure risk. Bennett notes judges can order such sales during divorce if there’s a clear financial threat, as a way to preserve equity.

Dorit has asked the judge to deny the request. With both sides presenting conflicting narratives, the case is now a battle of evidence contracts, communications, and financial records that will determine whether Dorit can shift blame for the foreclosure and whether PK can justify selling the property.
