Two Texas officers braved a mass of marauding bees to rescue a disabled man being attacked by the swarm. This absolutely courageous act of self sacrifice played out in Lyford, Texas on July 13th. On that day, the Lyford Chief of Police, Marcos Garcia, would lead from the front with the help of Officer Raymundo Sanchez to go above and beyond for a citizen in peril. The two heroes of the day were responding after receiving a report of an ongoing attack by a swarm of bees. To add to the drama of the day, the citizen under attack suffers from a physical disability that prevented him from executing his own escape. When the two officers arrived, they quickly located the victim lying on the ground while suffering an unrelenting attack by the bees. The victim had draped a towel over his chest in an attempt to mitigate some damage, but it appeared to be doing very little for the unfortunate man. Chief Garcia wasted no time as he leaped from his cruiser and charged head first into the fray....

FENRAD Condemns Theft of Official Vehicle in Aba, Calls for Police Action

The Foundation for Environmental Rights, Advocacy and Development (FENRAD) has condemned the daylight theft of an official vehicle belonging to its Executive Director, Comrade Nelson Nnanna Nwafor, describing the incident as a sign of worsening insecurity and rising vehicle theft in Aba and its environs.

The vehicle was stolen on Sunday, July 19, 2026, while parked along the roadside beside the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) church in Aba. Nwafor was inside attending the regular worship service and an extended prayer session when the car disappeared.

According to Nwafor, parking at the same open and visible location had been his routine whenever he attended services at the church. Upon returning after the prayer session, the vehicle was gone.

The stolen vehicle is a Toyota Camry with the following details: ash colour, registration number AGL 315 AV (Lagos plate), engine number 5S6116426, chassis number JT2BG22K7V0025850, and engine capacity of 1.6–2.0 litres.

FENRAD said the theft was promptly reported to the Azuka Police Station, Eziama Police Station, and the Area Commander of the Aba Area Command for investigation. Information about the vehicle has also been circulated to major automobile spare parts markets, including Alaoji and Port Harcourt, where stolen vehicles are often dismantled and their parts sold, in an effort to prevent dismemberment and aid recovery.

The organisation expressed concern over the increasing incidence of vehicle theft around churches and other public places in Aba, particularly on Sundays when worshippers are engaged in religious activities. Criminals, it noted, appear to be targeting unattended vehicles, especially Toyota models.

The foundation called on the Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, to intensify investigations, deploy all available intelligence and operational resources, and ensure the recovery of the vehicle as well as the arrest and prosecution of those responsible.

The organisation expressed optimism that the recovery of the vehicle would demonstrate the investigative capacity and professionalism of the Nigeria Police Force in Aba. It appealed to members of the public to provide any credible information that could assist law enforcement in locating the vehicle and identifying the perpetrators.

The statement was signed by Barr. Femisi Akande, Head of Legal Matters and Litigation, FENRAD Nigeria.
