 PRESS RELEASE FCT POLICE RESCUE SUSPECT FROM JUNGLE JUSTICE OVER ATTEMPTED ABDUCTION OF 5 YEAR OLD CHILD. …CP FCT Condemns such acts as it delays the course of justice The FCT Police Command, on the 4th of October 2026 at approximately 02:46PM, received a distress call reporting that an unidentified adult male was being assaulted by an angry mob over an alleged attempt to abduct a child. Following receipt of the report, police operatives from Kuje Division were immediately dispatched to the scene, where one Bashir Usman was rescued from an irate mob that was about to lynch him. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect was being assaulted by the mob over allegations that he attempted to abduct a five year old child in front of her residence in Angwan Lado, Kuje Area Council of the FCT.  German court convicts siblings over $37 million looted Egyptian artefacts


A German court has convicted two siblings of money laundering over the illegal sale of ancient Egyptian artefacts, and ordered the confiscation of 32 million euros ($37 million).


The brother and sister, who were not identified, were also hit with hefty fines in the case related to the objects, which allegedly came from illegal excavations in Egypt.


The artefacts, which were sold for millions of euros to museums, included a bust of Cleopatra, a stone slab associated with King Tutankhamun and items from a princess's grave.


The male defendant is said to have been involved in illegally trading the artefacts since 2013, according to prosecutors.


He was accused of bringing several sarcophagi from the princess's grave to Germany, having them restored and then reselling them to a museum after concealing their origins.
