Governor Uba Sani Attends Kaduna Forest Guards Graduation As Special Guest of Honour

Governor Uba Sani attended the graduation ceremony of the newly trained Kaduna State Forest Guards at the DSS Development Centre, Afaka, where he served as the Special Guest of Honour.

As part of ongoing efforts to consolidate the improving security situation in Kaduna State, the state government, in collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and the Department of State Services (DSS), has successfully trained over 1,000 forest guards.

The recruits underwent intensive training coordinated by ONSA to enhance surveillance and security across forests and rural communities that have been vulnerable to criminal activities. Fully armed and operating under ONSA's rules of engagement, the forest guards will complement the efforts of conventional security agencies.

The officers will be deployed to strategic flashpoints across several local government areas, including Birnin Gwari, Giwa, Kachia, Kagarko, Kajuru, Chikun, and Igabi.

The progress recorded in Kaduna's security landscape reflects the deliberate collaboration between Governor Uba Sani's administration and the Federal Government. To further strengthen security operations, the state government has provided 150 Hilux vehicles and 500 motorcycles to security personnel across the state. In addition, 7,000 personnel have been recruited into the Kaduna Vigilance Service (KADVS), further boosting community-based security efforts.

These sustained interventions have produced tangible results, including the reopening of the Birnin Gwari cattle market, which had been closed for more than a decade due to insecurity, as well as the Kidandan Market in Giwa Local Government Area, which had also remained shut for several years.
