 A 15-year-old Georgia girl endured a nightmare scenario when a man smashed through a shared wall and viciously attacked her. The unbelievably scary attack was carried out at 10 p.m. on August 4th. On that evening, a 15-year-old was watching two young children inside of an apartment on the 1000 block of Summit Street in Gainesville. As the 15-year-old passed time while watching a 5-year-old and 7-year-old, she had no idea that danger lurked next door. The calm evening erupted into chaos as 29-year-old Obed Reyes busted out the drywall on a shared wall and inside of a closet. The victim was taken completely by surprise as Obed charged towards her, seemingly appearing from nowhere. Obed was on her before she could react, grabbing her by the hair and punching the young girl. During the initial onslaught, the girl was able to fight back enough to make space and flee.  She sprinted into the breezeway with Obed right behind.  INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY: NONYE SOLUDO CALLS FOR MORE OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

The Anambra State First Lady, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, has called for more opportunities and supportive spaces for young people to learn, build, lead and thrive in today’s world.


Mrs. Soludo made the call in a message commemorating International Youth Day, describing young people as changemakers, innovators, entrepreneurs, creators and problem-solvers shaping the world today.


She stressed that every young person deserves an opportunity to discover their potential and transform their dreams into meaningful impact, noting that society owes them such opportunities.


The First Lady urged young people in Anambra State and beyond to believe in themselves, keep learning, stay healthy and remain committed to making positive contributions.


According to her, young people possess ideas, energy and courage needed to build the future everyone desires, urging them never to underestimate the difference they can make.


She encouraged stakeholders to continue creating environments where young people can develop their talents, express their creativity and acquire the knowledge and skills needed to succeed.


Mrs. Soludo emphasised that empowering young people is essential to building resilient communities and a prosperous society, as their contributions can drive innovation and meaningful development.


She therefore urged young people to embrace every opportunity to learn and grow, while remaining focused on their dreams and committed to creating positive change.


The First Lady congratulated young people on the occasion of International Youth Day, assuring them that their voices, talents and contributions remain important in shaping a better future.
