 BAUCHI STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE SWIFT RESPONSE: POLICE/COMMUNITY ARREST TWO ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS, RECOVER STOLEN VALUABLES IN BIRSHI GANDU In its unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property, the Bauchi State Police Command,  has recorded yet another commendable breakthrough following prompt response to a distress report. On 17th October, 2026 at about 1015hrs, four complainants (two males and two females), all of Birshi Gandu, reported at 'E' Division that on the same day, while they were asleep in their compound housing Cozy Resort Hotel, three hoodlums armed with knives and machetes forcefully broke in and dispossessed them of their personal belongings including Samsung Galaxy S22 and S23, Redmi Note 14, iPhones, iPads, a Lenovo laptop, a Samsung tablet, power banks, earpods and other valuables running into millions of Naira, including office ID cards and driver's license.  Kaduna Police Probe Officers Allegedly Extorting Motorists In Viral Video


The Kaduna State Police Command has launched a full-scale investigation into officers captured in a viral video allegedly collecting money from motorists and cyclists during a stop-and-search operation.


The Commissioner of Police, Rabiu Muhammad, directed that the officers involved be identified and invited for questioning.


In a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, Mansir Hassan, the police said any officer found guilty would face appropriate disciplinary measures.


The command explained that routine roadblocks and stop-and-search operations had been reduced, except where credible intelligence suggested the movement of criminals, arms or other prohibited items.


It noted, however, that the location featured in the viral video had previously been associated with criminal activities and was situated in a suburb of Millennium City.


According to the police, operatives had earlier recovered 20 AK-47 rifles along the same route.


Despite the security concerns, the Commissioner of Police stressed that no officer was permitted to use legitimate security operations as an opportunity to extort, harass or otherwise misconduct themselves.


The command warned that officers found culpable would face severe disciplinary and legal action.


It also commended members of the public for their vigilance and encouraged them to continue reporting cases of unprofessional conduct involving police personnel through the appropriate complaint channels.
