 Atiku pledges scholarship to viral Niger teen miner Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Sunday said his “heart breaks” each time he watches a viral video of a teenage artisanal miner, Yusuf Aliyu, speaking at a mining site in Niger State after the deaths of 37 miners in the state. Atiku, in a statement posted on his X handle, said he was prepared to support the boy’s education, describing him as a child whose intelligence and confidence should be nurtured in a classroom rather than by working at a mining site. “I have watched Yusuf Aliyu’s video repeatedly, and each time, my heart breaks. A child with such intelligence, clarity and confidence should be in a classroom building his future—not struggling for survival in a community surrounded by gold but buried in poverty. “I cannot look at him and see an ‘illegal miner.’ I see a Nigerian child failed by the country that should have protected him. I see brilliance trapped by poverty and enormous promise abandoned by leadership,” ...

 Kelly Clarkson is quietly grieving alongside her children a year after ex-husband's death


Kelly Clarkson has been navigating a deeply emotional year following the death of her ex‑husband, Brandon Blackstock, while prioritizing her children’s healing. 


According to reports, Clarkson has focused on giving River, 12, and Remington, 10, stability and love as they mourn their father, who passed away last August at 48 after a private battle with skin cancer. 


A source described the past year as “incredibly emotional,” but credited Clarkson with doing everything possible to support her kids through the loss.


Clarkson and Blackstock’s relationship had been marked by a contentious divorce finalized in 2022, involving custody disputes, financial settlements, and even lawsuits over career commissions. 


Clarkson ultimately won primary custody and relocated with her children to New York, while Blackstock spent his final years in Montana, living with Brittney Marie Jones and running a rodeo. 


Despite their history, Clarkson attended his funeral and has since gained perspective, acknowledging that while some moments remain painful, she is in a stronger place than during the divorce.


Professionally, Clarkson has found renewed energy in her music, her Las Vegas residency, and her upcoming return to The Voice. She also made the difficult decision to end her daytime talk show earlier this year, choosing to prioritize her family. 


Blackstock’s obituary reflected his return to “the cowboy way of life he always wanted to live,” underscoring the different paths the two took after their split. Clarkson’s journey highlights resilience in balancing grief, motherhood, and creative renewal.
