The General Manager of the Lagos State Urban Renewal Agency (LASURA), Dr. Animashaun Oladimeji Saheed, has led members of staff in an early-morning quick fitness exercise aimed at promoting healthy living, physical wellbeing and a productive workforce.
The exercise, in line with the Agency’s commitment to staff welfare, aligns with the directive of the Head of Service on the monthly "Work For Fitness" exercise across the Lagos State Public Service.
Speaking during the exercise, the General Manager emphasised the importance of regular physical activity in maintaining good health and improving the overall quality of life of workers. He noted that maintaining a healthy body and mind was essential for staff to remain energetic, focused and capable of carrying out their responsibilities effectively.
Dr. Animashaun informed that plans are being made with the Management of Folarin Coker Staff Clinic for a routine medical check of LASURA staff to monitor their health status. He therefore encouraged staff to cultivate healthy lifestyles and make physical fitness a regular part of their daily routine.
The General Manager further stressed that the early morning fitness exercise will also directly contribute to organisational productivity, as staff now resume promptly to duty and are mentally refreshed, better positioned to discharge their duties efficiently and provide quality service to the public.
The initiative also provided an avenue for staff to interact, bond and participate in a collective activity outside their office responsibilities. The atmosphere was lively as staff members enthusiastically participated in various fitness routines, demonstrating the Agency’s commitment to building a healthy, motivated workforce for effective service delivery and the achievement of the Agency’s mandate.
