Georgina Rodríguez has addressed comments about her appearance after photos of her wearing a swimsuit on a boat attracted attention online.
The model and influencer shared a message on Instagram on August 4, alongside photos from the outing and a mirror selfie in a white bikini, saying changes to the body are part of life.
“My body will change, as all women’s bodies do. And I hope it continues to do so for many years, because that will mean I’m still alive,” she wrote.
Rodríguez, who is engaged to football star Cristiano Ronaldo, said she wants to teach her children, especially her daughters, that a person’s value should not depend on physical appearance or public opinions.
She explained that she and Ronaldo have conversations about the pressure that comes with being judged publicly, especially because her work involves her image.
According to Rodríguez, she once told Ronaldo that she worried people were viewing her differently because of comments about her body.
She said Ronaldo reminded her that her identity goes beyond her appearance.
“You don’t live off your image. You live off who you are. A perfect woman. Beautiful, with a great body, a mother, a good person, successful, and who lives life with love. What more could you want?” she quoted him as saying.
Rodríguez also noted that discussions about her body happen repeatedly, especially during summer.
“The funny thing is, this happens every summer. Every year my body makes the news again,” she said.
She questioned who determines what the “right” body should look like and said she believes happiness should not be connected to a person’s size.
The mother of six added that her workouts are not about trying to meet public expectations but are part of her lifestyle and wellbeing.
“Because that hour at the gym is one of the best moments of my day. It gives me health, peace of mind, discipline, energy, and well-being,” she said.
Rodríguez concluded by saying she appreciates her body for what it has allowed her to experience, adding that every version of it deserves respect and care.
