NEW ECOWAS COMMISSION PRESIDENT GEN BIRAME DIOP ASSUMES OFFICE The new President of the ECOWAS Commission, General Birame Diop, has  assumed office. General Diop, a former Senegalese Minister of Defence and former Chief of the General Staff of the Senegalese Armed Forces, was appointed by the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government at its 69th Ordinary Summit in Sierra Leone. He succeeds Dr. Omar Alieu Touray of The Gambia, whose four-year tenure as President of the ECOWAS Commission has come to an end. The new ECOWAS Commission President Diop has promised to provide strategic leadership as the organisation works to strengthen regional integration, peace and security, economic cooperation and institutional effectiveness. While reforms and new approaches to programme implementation are expected,  consolidation of key initiatives on economic integration,  security and political stability in West Africa will take Priority.  Kelvin Ebhonuaye Reports that Anthon...

“My Daughter Has Sickle Cell Because of a Foolish Mistake I Made Due to Religion” — Nigerian man cries out over what his family is currently going through after his daughter was born with sickle cell 


According to him, he was once a devoted and “d!e-hard” religious follower who tried to live strictly by his interpretation of the Bible. He claimed that he and his wife dated for three years without having sex, despite both of them knowing that they were AS. 


He said that because of his strong religious beliefs, he convinced himself that God would not allow them to have a child with sickle cell disease. However, he now regrets the decision and says he is struggling with the reality of his daughter’s condition.

Innoson Gives Out Brand New IVM G5 and Salary For Life To The Man Who Prophesied About His Vehicle Manufacturing In 1979.  Last Saturday, July 22nd the Chairman of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company Ltd, Chief Dr Innocent Ifediaso Chukwuma OFR gave out a brand new Innoson IVM G5 to Mr Ikechukwu Osakwe popularly known as Osabros who prophesied to him in 1979 that he would be the first man in Africa to manufacture vehicles and sell to different African countries.  The prophecy was given at the period the then Innocent Chukwuma could not boast of a car, talk less of manufacturing one.
